I stumbled out of the airport jet lagged, sleep deprived.
After arriving at the airport we had to transfer to a train that would take us to the city center. It was about a 30-minute train ride. Along the ride I was getting my first look at Rome, mostly the colourful countryside, green leaves that were so full of life, but as I looked out at Rome I felt myself falling in love.
There is something magical about Rome that makes it more than a city. It’s an experience.
Upon arriving at the main train station, “Stazione Termini” in Italian, the excitement was building I couldn’t wait another minute to see all the sites of Rome. The Colosseum, The Roman Forum, and the Vatican were tops on my list,
and with only a couple of days to sightsee there wasn’t any time to waste.
We booked a hotel in Vatican so we had to change to the metro in order to get there.
After dropping our bags to the hotel in Vatican, changing our outfits we start scrolling down the streets of Vatican.
I quickly came up with a plan that involved fueling my body with a double espresso and the sweetest bakery i could find.
Rome seems to have an endless amount of things to see, do, and experience.
I couldn’t think of a better way to launch a trip in Europe than experiencing this city.
Rome will leave a lifetime impression and you will soon find yourself planning your return.
Here is my first post from our trip to Rome. Here we are in Orto Botanico.
I choose to come to this peaceful place just to escape from the madness of the city and here is my first look.
I have so many photos to show you and such a little time.I promise i will come back with a new post soon.
