Hello again,I´m back with another post from my favourite place from Zakinthos.
On the north west coast of the Greek island of Zakynthos you will find Shipwreck Cove or Smugglers Cove  also called Navagio Beach which is probably the most famous beach in Greece and can only be accessed by boat.

This picturesque beach has been photographed and featured in many holiday brochures, travel books and televised advertisements.
The boat was shipwrecked back in 1980 after hitting rocks in bad weather while being pursued by the Greek Navy who suspected it was carrying contraband cigarettes.
The colors of the sea are amazing. The fact it is relatively hard to reach makes it even more interesting.
The magic is hidden in the fact that despite the exotic look from a distance this place is harsh from a close distance with its high rocky walls, very deep and sometime cold water though. Amongst many views from Zante the one of Navagio is still my number one.

If planning to lounge in the sun i advise you to bring all necessities with you as there are no facilities in this secluded bay.A sun umbrella is a must, as the heat radiates off the white cliffs and there is no shade on the beach to get away from it, especially at midday.

The place could’ve use some restrictions, as for number of ships at the same.
Great trip out there for Є20. I give 4 Stars because it has been over-populated with 4 or 5 boats moving people in and out constantly causing some safety concerns for swimmers, but not just that, it takes some of the magic out of the place. If you go prepare to be included on someones ‘Selfie’ .
Despite the crowded island we manage to shoot some photos without capturing anybody in the background but couldn’t get any good photos of the ship wreck.
In order to avoid overcrowding, go to Navagio Beach either early in the morning or put off your visit until later in the afternoon (at around 3pm).
I would go again, but maybe try to go earlier in the day.
This small and isolated sandy cove it is strikingly beautiful and it is one of the most beautiful places i ever seen.
A gallery of the many, many photos that we took over there you find below.Let me know if you´ve been on this breathtaking island ! Enjoy
